Buhari Releases N6.25 Billion for Establishment of Cattle Ranches in Kastina

President Muhammadu Buhari has released N6.25 billion to Kastina State government for the establishment of cattle ranches in some government areas in state.

This was announced on Monday by the state Deputy Governor, Mannir Yakubu, while speaking at the Ranch Stakeholders Development Meeting.

The Deputy Governor, who also doubles as the state Commissioner for Agriculture, said the pioneer local government areas where grazing reserves would be established are those affected by activities of bandits, and they are Jibia, Batsari, Dutsinma, Safana, Danmusa, Kankara, Faskari and Sabuwa Dandume among others.

Yakubu explained that some other infrastructures such schools, health centres and veterinary clinics will be built in the affected communities with the fund.

He reiterated the  federal and the state governments commitment in restoring peace and stability to areas affected by banditry, cattle rustling, kidnapping and other criminal activities.

He also appealed to the communities to provide support for the government by making land available for the construction of the ranches.

“We are therefore soliciting for the support and cooperation of the affected communities to provide suitable sites for the execution of these projects,”  Yakubu said.
