The Nigerian soldiers have allegedly invaded the house of Yoruba activist, Sunday Adeyemo, popularity known as Sunday Igboho.
The soldiers were said to have stormed the house at about 1:00am on Thursday, shooting everywhere; 5 people were killed in the process. Blood stains were seen on the floor. The furniture in the house, cars belonging to Igboho were destroyed. The soldiers “arrested” a cat believing it was Igboho that turned into the cat.
Sunday Igboho’s aide, Olayomi Koiki confirmed the incident on Facebook live video. He narrated what happen in the video.
“The situation now is very bad. Two Yoruba sons have been killed in the house of Chief Sunday Igboho. The two dead bodies have been taken away by the military. We do not know of the location where they were taken to.
“I can confirm that those who came are definitely Nigerian soldiers. There are more than 100 soldiers that came,” he said
Some eyewitnesses, who spoke on condition of anonymity also confirmed the incident. They said gunmen in military uniform attacked the house of Igboho. According to them the soldiers came around 1 am in 10 vehicles.
“Around 1 am, we started hearing gunshots, there was pandemonium everywhere. Then we saw soldiers, they were dressed as if they were going for a battle. Before we knew what was happening, they started targeting places where people sleep in the house.
“It was God that saved me and others, they came prepared. Only God knows how they identified Igboho's room. They went there, took his money and jewelry. Same as his wife and other family members.
They even took away his cat when they didn’t see him. They claim it might be Igboho that turned to cat, do they took it away,” one of them said.
Another eyewitness said: “Chief was around but the way he escaped surprised everybody. An insider must have given them information about the house and its occupants. They were asking for each person by name and they killed five and took away their corpses. They also whisked a lady away and wives of Igboho’s aides who live in the house.
“Those who came are soldiers and DSS operatives.
