Each area of knowledge has a set of most commonly used statistical procedures. Thus, for non-statisticians, the tendency is that using area-specific software is simpler and more intuitive than very broad software. In addition, using simpler software can free up time for the researcher to study more about statistical science and spend less time studying how to do it in the software. In this context, I recommend the SPEED Stat software ((sem título) (http://speedstatsoftware.wordpress.com)) for researchers in the agricultural sciences, considering the set of analyzes most commonly used in this field of knowledge.<br />SPEED is interesting because: i. is FREE software directly in Excel for classical experimental statistics; ii. tests of assumptions (normality, homoscedasticity and additivity) and outliers are performed automatically; iii. the software automatically scans for transformations (when necessary); iv. it is easier to perform ANOVA and the tests of means for models in split-plot, split block, nested (nested mixed) and repeated measures; v. greater simplicity to analyze unbalanced (missing data) or factorial data with additional treatments; saw. greater ease to perform regression analysis, including for non-linear models; vii.
