Nigerians begin to pay more for paid tv, as StarTimes announces increase in its subscription fees.
The company announced this on Tuesday 9 January via its verified official Facebook page
According to the post, the implementation of StarTimes revised subscription pricing packages will take effect from Wednesday, January 10, 2024. The paid TV had on January 6, 2024 announced its plan to review its by 15% for all bouquets
StartTimes says the reason for the increment was to “keep giving you great content without reducing quality… and adding a new bouquet.”
The price increment affects all packages in both its Terrestrial TV (Antenna) Service and Satellite TV (Dish) bouquets. The company stated that subscribers on its Nova bouquet, currently paying N1,500 per month, would begin paying N1,700 from January 10, representing a 13% increase.
Users subscribed to the StarTimes Smart bouquet will see their fee increase by 6% from N3,500 to N3,708. The new monthly subscription for special and super subscribers is now N5,600 and N7,500 respectively, up from N5,000 and N6,500.
