Fintiri Leading Binani, as INEC Resumes Collation of Results in Adamawa

Governor Ahmadu Fintiri of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) is still leading his rival, Senator Aishatu Dahiru Binani of the All Progressive Congress as the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) reconvened and resumed collation of results for Saturday’s supplementary governorship election in the state.

Recall that INEC on Sunday suspended collation for the Saturday supplementary governorship election in Adamawa following the announcement of Aisha ‘Binani’ Dahiru of the All Progressives Congress (APC) as the winner over the incumbent, Governor Ahmadu Fintiri of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) by the state REC Hudu Ari even while the all the election results are yet to be collated.

INEC Administrative Secretary in the state, Adamu Gujungu, who has been mandated by the commission to take the place of the erring Resident Electoral Commissioner, Hudu Yunusa Ari was seen at the collation centre.

Also present is the  Commissioner of Police in charge of Gombe State, CP Etim Equa whom the IGP asked to supervise the supplementary governorship poll, as the Commissioner of Police on election duty in Adamawa State, Mohammed Barde,  was ordered towithdraw from the state with immediate effect.
