Kebbi State Governor, Atiku Bagudu has urged internally displaced persons (IDPs) in Mahuta and Isgogo of Fakai and Zuru local government areas to continue to bear the suffering inflicted on them by bandits attacks as it was destined by God.

He equally told them to stay in the camps until when it’s safe to  return home — when bandits stop terrorising the state.

The governor said this on Friday when he visited the IDPs camps in Government Day Secondary School, Mahuta and Model Primary School, Isgogo, in Zuru Emirate to sympathise with the victims of the bandits’ attack and condole the families that lost their loved ones during the incident.

“I am here to see you with important personalities and local government officials to sympathise with you. Take heart and bear with the situation as it is destined by the Almighty God,” he said.

The governor stated that he had ordered for relief materials to be sent to them, assuring them that the government is taking more security measures to safeguard their lives and property in the affected areas.

“You will be assisted by government. You remain here until it is safe for you to go back. We are taking more measures to safeguard your lives and properties.”

The governor, however, warned people to desist from spreading rumours and false information, which he said could further instill fear in residents of the state.

Governor Bagudu also visited the palace of the chiefdom of Mahuta, Muhammad Hudu, where he met the community leader.
