The presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Bola Ahmed Tinubu fell asleep on Saturday during a meeting with the Emir of Gombe, Abubakar Shehu-Abubakar, in what could further prove frailty of his health.
Tinubu who was in Gombe on Saturday for the wedding ceremony of Misbahu Inuwa Yahaya, son of Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya, made a stopover at the palace of the Gombe Emir to pay him homage and for political meeting.
He was accompanied by some APC stalwarts including his running mate, Shettima, Senate President Ahmed Lawan and Secretary to Federal Government, Boss Mustapha.
Tinubu and other APC chieftains from the North were at the palace to seek support of the Gombe monarch for his 2023 presidential ambition, Peoples Gazette reports.
While the meeting was ongoing, Tinubu was captured on camera sleeping as the Senate President, Ahmed Lawan was holding the microphone addressing attendees at the emir’s sitting room.
It was not immediately clear why Mr Tinubu dozed off, but speculations are rife on social media about the development, with critics saying it marked another evidence of his weakness while his supporters said he was barely ‘meditating’.
