UBA Set to Announce Oliver Alawuba as Its New Managing Director/CEO

United Bank for Africa, UBA, one of Africa’s largest banks,  is set to announce appointment of Oliver Alawuba as its new Managing Director/CEO. Alawuba will take over from Kennedy Uzoka, whose two-term tenure ends this month of August.

According to report by Nairametrics, the decision was reached and approved at the last board meeting of the bank held in Dubai, during the unveiling of the bank's operations in the United Arab Emirates, UAE.

Mr. Alawuba is current holding the position of Deputy Managing Director of the bank.

Others whose appointments were approved and will be announced along side that of Mr. Alawuba were Muyiwa Akinyemi, the current General Manager of Corporate banking, who will be announced as the Deputy Managing Director of the Bank; Kennedy Uzoka will assume the position of the Managing Director of a new holding structure that will be introduced by the bank. 

Mr. Uzoka will be in charge operations of UBA Group which includes several other subsidiaries across Africa, the US, Europe, and the Middle East.

The official announcement by the bank is likely to be in the coming days.
