By 23 August 2022, Nigeria is going to switch over to 5th generation (5G) technology.

MTN and Mafab Communications, which won the 3.5GHz Spectrum auction conducted on December 13, 2021 are expected to roll out the 5G network from 23rd of this month, according to Nigeria Communications Commission. 

MTN has also confirmed its readiness to roll 5G service by third week of the month.

With 5G, subscribers will get a whole new experience of internet speed, even as the technology is expected to unlock new opportunities in all areas of the Nigeria's economy.
