Dangote Refinery to Start Refining Crude Oil before September 2022

Nigeria’s largest private oil refinery, Dangote Refinery will commence processing crude before the third quarter of this year.

The President of Dangote Group, Aliko Dangote hinted this in Lagos during press briefing at the plant on Saturday.

Dangote said major works have been done on the refinery especially mechanical work others will be complete soon and “hopefully before the end of the third quarter we should be in the market.”

He added that the plant would start with a processing capacity of 540,000 barrels a day.

“Full production can start maybe, by the end of the year or beginning of 2023,” he said.

Dangote refinery located in Lagos is a crude oil refinery project with petrochemical and fertilizer facilities cost of $19 billion.

The refinery  has installed capacity of 650,000 barrels per day and it is believed output from the refinery will be more than enough to meet Nigeria’s fuel demands and also export to other African countries.
