Sunday Igboho Arrested in Benin Republic

“He was supposed to travel to Germany through Cotonou this night. He wanted to leave Africa through Cotonou. He was arrested by security operatives in Cotonou."

The Yoruba freedom fighter, Sunday Adeyemo, also known as Sunday Igboho has been arrested in Contonou, Benin Republic by the security operatives in that country.

According to SaharaReporters, a source privy to Igboho’s escape from Nigeria, said he left Nigeria enroute  Germany through Benin Republic before been arrested by Benin Republic's security operatives on Monday. 

He said they are already planning to bring him back to Nigeria 

“Sunday Igboho has been arrested in Cotonou. He was arrested about an hour ago.

“He was supposed to travel to Germany through Cotonou this night. He wanted to leave Africa through Cotonou. He was arrested by security operatives in Cotonou.

“They are planning to bring him back to Nigeria.”

DSS had declared Sunday Igboho wanted after invading his house in Ibadan, Oyo State, which left many dead.

“He should surrender himself to appropriate authorities. He or anyone can never be above the law.

“Those cheering and eulogizing him may appeal to or advice him to do the needful.” Peter Afunnaya, DSS Public Relations Officer said in a statement.

Pelumi Olajengbesi, one of Igboho’s lawyers told SaharaReporters he is yet to confirm the arrest. SaharaReporters reports.

Recall, the Indigenous People of Biafra Leader, Mazi  Nnamdi Kanu was arrested in the same manner in Kenya,  and brought back to Nigerian to face  some weeks ago.
