How To Benefit From Free 250,000 FG/CAC Business Name Registration

 The President, Muhammadu Buhari last week approved free 250,000 business name registration for young entrepreneurs. This is one of the efforts of the Federal Government to empower the youths, encourage them in entrepreneurial investment, cushion the effects of the Covid-19 pandemic, and the ease of doing business policy of the government. 

Formalization of the Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises, MSMEs will help them leverage on various business opportunities including access to funding. The Federal Government has as well rolled out 75 billion Naira business support grants for the youths between 18-35 of age who are into entrepreneurial business enterprises. Most of the potential applicants need to register their businesses. They are therefore advised to used the free business registration window to register their businesses.

The application for free 250,000 business registration is not done on the CAC site, cac.gov.ng. No doubt this is because the free registration is not for everyone, it’s target at young people. If you apply for registration online, you will have to pay the normal registration fee.

Cooperate Affairs Commission, CAC has therefore, rolled out the list of designated aggregators and states focal persons for the free 250,000 business registration. 

If you’re interested, you can check for the name, email and phone number of your state aggregator and focal person, CAC Office in your state bellow.

To register, you need  2 passport photographs, valid ID card. Visit CAC office in your state of residence or call the phone number of your state focal person and follow his/her instructions.
